pre-school pictureJinda's day-care centre and pre-school  plays a fundamental part in the children's lives. The school teaches basic reading and writing skills, making the children's transition into primary school easier and less tumultuous. Equally important, they also learn to have fun! The pre-school 
would not have been possible without the generous and consistent financial support of Jinda's most faithful patron, Renee Farms.
Jinda familySibongile is a foster mother who has been fostering 3 small children for almost 2 years. The children have grown very fond of her and have thrived in their new home environment. Sibongile is very proud of her Jinda house and was pleased to show us inside her humble home. Although Sibongile's house has been renovated, there is still no hot water supply. Jinda is currently raising funds for constructing a 'donkey' style hot water generator that will supply hot water to all 12 houses within the Jinda village.

Thandi at jinda pre-school
Thandi was introduced to Jinda roughly a year ago by uMephi, a charity whose primary focus also lies with AIDS orphans and with which Jinda has a close affiliation. Thandi was 3 years old when she first arrived, both her parents had died from AIDS. Thandi is HIV positive and is currently on ARVs. Despite her difficult and grim start to life, Thandi is flourishing above all expectations in her new home environment. Her health is monitored continuously and it is very important for Thandi to maintain a healthy diet.
