Current projects that are in need of funding:

  • tiling of the floors in one of the houses. The current floors are seriously deteriorated with holes in places.
  • the construction of a ‘donkey’ style hot water generator. This will be used to supply all 12 houses with hot water, all of which have no hot water supply.
  • construction of a basic laundry room where all villagers can hand wash clothes, etc
  • full employ of a Social Worker dedicated to Jinda HoS. The social workers employed by the government are overworked and cannot keep up with all the legal paperwork surrounding each orphaned child. A dedicated Social Worker will also take care of practical needs and ensure a level of normalcy in the children's lives. There is also a need for constant medical care as many of  the children were mulnourished prior to their placement into the Jinda village.

 Siyabonga
Siyabonga has been with us for the last 14 years. His mother abandoned him when he was still a baby and his father died when he was 4 years old. He is working hard to finish school and we are very proud of his progress. He has a positive approach to life and is always ready to give a helping hand. We have high hopes for this young man!
